Aqua Science Water Wisdom · Whole-home UV treatment

Clear water can look inviting. Appearance alone cannot tell you whether it contains harmful microorganisms. For homeowners considering an added layer of microbial treatment, VIQUA Arros deserves a closer look.

Aqua Science carries Arros systems and a broad selection of VIQUA equipment, replacement lamps and parts. Arros combines residential UV treatment with thoughtful features that make installation and ongoing care easier to manage.

What UV brings to your water system

As water passes through the treatment chamber, ultraviolet light inactivates susceptible microorganisms. Proper selection, installation and maintenance matter: performance depends on the model, water conditions and flow through the system.

What UV can address

UV can help address bacteria and certain other waterborne pathogens without adding disinfecting chemicals. Match the equipment to the organisms and treatment conditions covered by its manufacturer documentation.

What needs other treatment

UV does not remove PFAS, lead, hardness or dissolved chemicals. Separate treatment may be needed for those concerns. Sediment and other water conditions can also interfere with UV performance.

For private well owners, changing water quality makes appropriate laboratory testing especially valuable. A clear glass of water is no substitute for a test. The CDC’s home water treatment guide explains why treatment should match the contaminants in your water.

Designed with the homeowner in mind

Simpler lamp replacement

The combined lamp-and-quartz-sleeve unit uses a single connection, simplifying handling during replacement.

Helpful touchscreen controls

An LCD touchscreen displays system information and lamp replacement reminders, helping you keep track of routine care.

Flexible mounting

The chamber can mount vertically or horizontally. VIQUA prefers vertical mounting; either arrangement must follow the model’s installation instructions.

Aligned plumbing connections

The Tidal chamber places the inlet and outlet on the same plane to simplify piping connections.

Built-in UV shielding

PolyProtect shielding allows direct connection to PEX and other compatible plastic plumbing as specified by VIQUA.

Options for different homes

Multiple system sizes and Arros IHS configurations with integrated prefiltration help match the equipment to your home.

Good equipment deserves the right fit

Before choosing a model, work through these points with the Aqua Science team:

  1. Start with your water test. Share current laboratory results and any changes in your water source or quality.
  2. Review household demand. Discuss the flow your home needs and your existing treatment equipment so the system can be sized appropriately.
  3. Plan water preparation. Check the manufacturer’s water-quality requirements. Sediment filtration or other pretreatment may be needed before UV.
  4. Plan ongoing care. Follow the manufacturer’s schedule for lamp replacement, cleaning and filter maintenance. Keep the model number handy when ordering parts.
