This pH neutralizer system is designed for low pH water and to help bring pH levels into the EPA-recommended 6.5 to 8.5 range. Low pH is classified as a secondary drinking water contaminant concern, and acidic conditions may indicate acids or dissolved metals are present, including copper, lead, zinc, and other metals commonly associated with the metals found in acidic-water plumbing scenarios. For more severe acidity, some treatment setups use chemical feed pumps to inject alkaline solutions, and soda ash is typically used for very acidic water with pH below 4.5, while other pH neutralizers and acid neutralizing filters for well water systems offer configurable options for different levels of acidity.
