How It Works

Acidic water is defined as water with a pH below 7.0; water below 6.5 is considered acidic and corrosive. Understanding the severity of acidity is important before selecting a treatment system. Using a free well water test kit can help you determine the exact pH level. Water at pH 4.5 is extremely acidic, while a pH neutralizer is generally recommended when pH is below 6.8.

When water comes into contact with the media, minerals dissolve to add alkalinity and bicarbonate, which helps raise water toward neutral at pH 7 and supports calcium hardness stability despite changes in water chemistry.

This system helps reduce blue-green staining on sinks and other fixtures, because the change toward less acidic water lowers corrosive conditions and the risk that acidic water may leach lead, copper, iron, manganese, zinc, and arsenic from pipes and the rest of your home's plumbing. Maintenance Requirements
