Helps to Remove
Chlorine - Odor - Taste
Features / Benefits
•Combines a fine pore structure and high catalytic activity for enhanced adsorption of trace contaminants
•Not impregnated
•High hardness
•Simple equipment design (no pumps or addition of chemicals required)
•Smaller system size as compared to standard carbons; lower capital requirements
•No safety concerns with exotherms or toxicity as with impregnated carbons
•Wide applicability; can eliminate chemical addition
Amerisorb Granular Activated Carbon is a filtration media for reducing objectionable taste and odor in water, including chlorine-related taste and hydrogen sulfide odor. Its high density and balanced pore structure support efficient adsorption of certain dissolved chemicals, particularly organic chemicals.
This granular carbon can be used in domestic or industrial applications with pressurized filter vessels. Product data lists a 12 x 40 mesh size, 33 lbs./cu.ft. density, iodine number 800, and abrasion number 75 minimum, with compliance to American Water Works Association Standard B604-74.
