Purolite A860 is a macroporous Type I strong base anion exchange resin with an acrylic matrix for removal of tannins and organic matter from water supplies. The acrylic matrix supports reversible removal upon regeneration and is particularly resistant to organic fouling, even where loadings are relatively high.
This 1/2 cube resin regenerates efficiently with lower levels of sodium hydroxide than those required for a polystyrene based Type I resin, while offering comparable removal of weaker acids including carbonic acid and silica. It can also be used in combination with a polystyrene based resin in mixed bed applications to broaden removal of organic compounds. The resin is supplied in chloride form and is NSF certified.
