Purpose The lightning arrestor is designed to protect motors and controls from voltage surges caused by lightning, switching loads, or power line interferences. Surges of 500 volts or more are directed to ground by the lightning arrestor. Although the arrestor may or may not take repeated surges, no arrestor can withstand a direct lightning strike or a surge of unusually high voltage.
Application The Heavy-Duty Models lightning arrestor have Threads and Nut to Attach to Electrical Panel or varieties of enclosed motor controls. Both the pressure switch and control box Note: Pressure switch arrestor location offers the best water system protection, if only one lightning arrestor is used.
